2016 Pride Youth Grants

2016 Pride Youth Grants

2016 was a great year for our Pride Youth Scholarship program. Vancouver Pride Society Co-chair Alan Jernigan presented the inaugural Pride Youth Scholarships during the LOUD Gala event on June 8th. Three outstanding individuals each received a $2000 grant funded by the VPS.

Vancouver Pride worked closely with our corporate & small business partners to raise funds so we can continue awarding scholarships. The BMW store on Burrard supported us through a social media campaign. For every photo taken of the Grand Marshal cars and shared to #BMWSTOREVANPRIDE, $5 was donated which resulted in $1840. We thank Marquis Wine Cellar on Davie for continuing the Summer Wine Series which raised $760. Blenz Coffee contributed through a one day in-store campaign and Pride Youth Scholarships was Charity of the Month on Roundhouse Radio for a combined donation of $272. Vancouver Front Runners shared proceeds from Pride Run & Walk. They donated $4358 through registration fees and continue to be our largest annual contributor. Cause marketing campaigns in 2016 raised $7230 for the LOUD Foundation.

These relationships are vital to the success of Vancouver Pride and LOUD Business will continue to be one of our signature Community Partners. After just 2 years we have seen immense value in supporting LGBTQ youth through this program. We invite business owners to help build on our success from last season.
