2018 Pride Week

2018 Pride Week

The last few days of July and first week of August are jam-packed with events for all folks who want to celebrate Pride! Kick-off the week at the historical Pride Proclamation, load up on breakfast at the Terry Wallace Memorial Breakfast, celebrate at the 40th Annual Pride Parade, and laze around at the Sunset Beach Festival.

2018 Pride Proclamation - July 30th:

2018 is the Year of the Queer! The City of Vancouver is setting off Pride Week on the South Steps of the Vancouver Art Gallery, now the šx????n?q Xwtl'e7én? Square.

Join us in the square as Councillor Stephenson, representatives from the Vancouver Pride Society, and host Joan-E proclaim Pride Week in the City of Vancouver to get the festivities started! Be there to celebrate 40 Years of Drag and catch the introductions of the 2018 Parade Grand Marshals.

Terry Wallace Memorial Breakfast - August 4th:

Enjoy a by-donation pancake breakfast and buffet to celebrate the legacy of Terry Wallace, who managed the Castle Pub and raised money through the pub, 50/50's, and pull-tab machines in order to fund the Pride Parade in its years of financial uncertainty. Terry Wallace's reputation as one of the Vancouver Pride Society founders and a gentle peacekeeper who worked out of the spotlight follows him even after his death in 2004.
