Vancouver Pride 2026: Unapologetically Queer

Vancouver Pride 2026 Theme ‘Unapologetically Queer’: A Bold Celebration of Queer Visibility, Community, and Pride Across Vancouver

Vancouver Pride Society (VPS) is proud to announce its 2026 Pride Season & Theme: Unapologetically Queer. A declaration of visibility, authenticity, and community.

Unapologetically Queer. Sorry, not sorry.

This year’s theme is about showing up as we are; without editing our joy, our identity, our bodies, our love, or our histories.

For many in our community, being queer has never been simple. It has meant navigating spaces where we weren’t always safe, seen, or accepted. It has meant building our own spaces, finding each other, and holding one another through both joy and struggle.

At a time when queer and trans communities continue to face rising hostility, censorship, and attacks on rights and visibility around the world, Unapologetically Queer is a reminder that existing openly, joyfully, and collectively remains deeply powerful.

“Unapologetically Queer is about taking up space fully and authentically,” says Nicole Tran, Board of Director Co-Chair of Vancouver Pride Society. “Pride exists because queer communities created spaces for each other when those spaces didn’t exist elsewhere. This year’s theme honours that legacy while making room for the many ways people experience identity, belonging, joy, and resistance today.”

Pride is for everyone! Pride means to show up in all the ways we exist and express ourselves. Vancouver Pride Society recognizes that queer identity is expansive, intersectional, and constantly evolving. This year’s theme celebrates lesbian, bi, ace, trans, gay, non-binary, Two-Spirit, queer, questioning, and broader 2SLGBTQAI+ communities across Vancouver and beyond.

At the same time, VPS acknowledges that our community is not one story, and that not everyone has experienced Pride in the same way. Being unapologetic does not mean ignoring complexity; it means continuing to show up honestly, while listening, reflecting, and working toward deeper inclusion, accessibility, and care for one another.

“Pride is rooted in community – in creating space for people to connect, feel supported, and be themselves,” said Alicia Rose, AVP, Global Social Impact, Corporate Citizenship, TD Bank Group. “TD is proud to support Vancouver Pride and the community-led work that helps bring those spaces to life.”
