QTBIPOC Meditation
An evening of guided meditation with Eman Salem (they/she). The intention of this event is to provide a welcoming space to heal, rest, and be in community for those within the QTBIPOC community. This event is created by and intended for folks who are Black, Indigenous, or people of colour and identify within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
The Field: Beyond the Binary Circuit Training Class
As Queer folks its our birthright to move our body and be well. A circuit training class powered by your own autonomy that is accompanied by your favourite queer dance hits. An exploration of muscle hypertrophy that enlivens the whole body. Work your way through upper and lower body, core, and compound movements. Decipher the intensity, pace, and space your body needs that day. Invite your presence inward to adventure through playful movement together.
Queer Storytelling and Sound Meditation
Join Charlie Gates (they/them) for an offering of deep listening and daydreaming, traveling to liminal spaces through myth and sound meditation. Both storytelling and music have been used as supportive listening since humans have existed, supporting our imaginations, restful states, and communal connectivity. Together we will rest and listen to a telling of a queer(ed) folktale threaded with music, moving into a full sound bath
Adaptive Yoga with Kendra Coupland
This gentle class blends slow and intentional movement with breathwork and meditation. Without any particular goals or destination, we will explore a meandering practice that cultivates self-awareness and well-being through calm and neutral self-observation.
Queer Kirtan and Breathwork
This 90 minute session will be a journey through Pranayama, where you will experience the power of your breath. Awaken the source within through breath-work and prepare to go on a Sound journey through the ancient practice of Kirtan (Chants and Devotional Songs). Allow the frequency of the mantra to vibrate your body and using your body instrument awaken your true self. This will be a journey to awaken your mind body and soul.
Queering Sex Education with Daniel Oommen and The Allura Centre
Not a lot of us received adequate sex education let alone sex-positive sex education. In this interactive workshop, we will explore aspects that traditional heternormative sex education leaves out. Topics such as consent as a spectrum, sexual communication, self-pleasure, desire, and pleasure focused sex. This workshop will include discussions, reflective questions and some takeaway activities.
